It could be the type of media or paper being used. Is this the same type of paper you have always used? If it is and all of sudden it is not advancing from the tray that would again support that there is now damage to the tray.
If you are using new or different media or paper make sure that your printer is designed to be able to print with it from a tray or should it be put into the manual feed.
A bad or damaged fuser can actually cause the paper not to be picked up from the tray. If the fuser is not operating at the correct temperature levels it prevents the paper from advancing.
When you are replacing a fuser, rollers should be examined for wear and tear or damage. Rollers will dry out and wear down which could cause this issue.
There are several other assemblies that could be involved if none of the above solutions work to solve this issue that a technician would test for on a service call.
